Homebrewing has been an enjoyable & rewarding activity. Homebrewing can be as complex or as simple of a process as desired by the person brewing. I appreciate the flavor and texture of a quality beer. These days beer is more of a means to an end with watered-down flavor and consumed in mass quantity for the sole purpose of getting somewhat intoxicated. There is so much more out there to be experienced than just Bud Light and the like. Not to mention, there's tons of other companies and microbrews to support.
Homebrewing has helped me to understand what I like and what I'm actually tasting. The process in itself is like any other activity or hobby that is engaging and enriching. Like arts or cooking it is something that requires your interaction and touch. There is nothing like the fragrance of Hops added to the boiling Wart and it is very fulfilling to taste a successful brew that you created at home.
Here in Waco we have a small group called
Three BridgeCity Homebrew. Our talents and experience range, but we all appreciate
the taste of a good Homebrew. I am one of the novices of the group and do
Mini-Mash brewing. A couple of the guys in the club do all grain brewing.
Some bottle and some keg their beer. We communicate with a message board and
have monthly meetings.
